Botulingel Capsules
Botulingel is a "unisex" product. Effective to prevent the
appearance of wrinkles, especially in the eye contour area and
forehead. It will assist in reducing the appearance of those lines
already formed. The Botulingel Capsules are the simplest and
safest cosmetic alternative to microinjections. These Botulingel
capsules come in a single-dose capsule to apply directly onto fine
lines, wrinkles and expression lines. The Botulingel capsules
contain Argireline, a latest-generation hexapeptide which acts on
muscular contractions and reduces expression lines. Argireline
is certainly one of the most amazing cosmetic events that has
recently taken place. Until now we can only find this active
ingredient in our Caviare Antiaging Creams and Vita Lift Night
Eyecream which have both been designed for dry skins.
However, Botulingel
capsules can be used on all skin types. Young skins to prevent
aging, will use one capsule per week and mature skins up to three
capsules per week. We recommend in an intensive shock treatment one
capsule each day for two weeks. To find out more about this
amazing new product by Vincent Davianny Skincare, ask your
professional therapist.
All About Body Fat
In general, women have a higher percentage of body fat than men.
A healthy body fat percentage range for women aged between 34 and 55
years is 25 to 32%. A healthy range for men aged between 34 and
55 years is 10 to 18%. For these age groups, body fat percentages
of over 38% for women and over 25% for men indicate obesity. In
terms of fat storage, humans may be divided into two major body
types – apples, who store fat around the waist, and pears, who store
fat on the hips and thighs. Those of us who fall into the apple
crate are more likely to develop obesity related health problems.
Most men are apple types and most women are pear types. Compared
with men, women derive a greater proportion of their energy
expenditure from fats during low to moderate intensity exercise.
Suggestions for cardiovascular workouts:
- Include cardio workouts that are low intensity for a longer
duration, to optimise fat burning.
- Include cardio workouts that are of a higher intensity for a
shorter period of time, to optimise calorie burning.
- Try different modes of training, that is, cross training, to
avoid fatigue and overuse of your muscles in similar movement
patterns.
- Vary your workouts regularly to 'shock' your body – novel
stimuli are essential to optimise weight loss, as our bodies adapt
to the same old routines.
So, get out there and hit the pavement, the local park, the
bridge, the treadmill, the beach, the bike, the pool or the
mountains! Most importantly, have a happy and healthy time
living your life!

Skin Focus: All About Rosacea
Rosacea is an inflammatory skin disease that causes facial
redness. Many mistake some of its characteristics, small red bumps,
or pustules for problem skin. In fact, rosacea has been called adult
acne or acne rosacea, but the disorder has nothing to do with acne.
Rosacea affects mostly adults, 1 in 20 is affected, usually
people with fair skin, between the ages of 30 and 60. It's more
common in women, however men develop more aggressive conditions of
the disorder. It's not life threatening, but it can affect your
appearance and lower self esteem. Left untreated, rosacea tends
to get worse over time. However it may flare up for a period of
weeks to months and then signs and symptoms lessen for a while
before rosacea flares up again. Besides acne, rosacea can also be
mistaken for other skin problems, such as skin allergy or eczema.
Signs and symptoms of rosacea include:
- Red areas on your face
- Small, red bumps or pustules on nose, cheeks, forehead and
chin
- Red enlarged bulbous nose
- Visible small blood vessels on nose and cheeks
- Tendency to flush or blush easily
Rosacea usually appears in phases:
- Pre-rosacea. Rosacea may begin as a simple
tendency to flush or blush easily, then progress to a persistent
redness in the centre of your face, particularly your nose. This
redness results from the dilation of blood vessels close to your
skin's surface.
- Vascular rosacea. Small blood vessels on the
nose and cheeks swell and become visible. The skin may become
overly sensitive.
- Inflammatory rosacea. Small, red bumps or
pustules may appear and persist, spreading across your nose,
cheeks, forehead and chin. In severe cases, the oil glands in the
nose become enlarged, resulting in a build up of tissue on the
nose, distorting the shape of the nose, this is much more common
in men and develops very slowly over a period of years.
Causes The cause of rosacea is unknown, but
researchers believe it's likely due to some combination of
hereditary and environmental factors. Risk factors
Although the exact cause of rosacea remains a mystery,
a number of factors can aggravate it or make it worse by increasing
blood flow to the surface of your skin. Some of these include:
- Hot foods or beverages
- Spicy foods
- Alcohol
- Temperature changes or extremes
- Sun exposure
- Stress, anger, excitement or embarrassment
- Strenuous exercise
- Hot showers, baths and saunas
- Smoking, causes capillary damage
- Medications that dilate blood vessels, including some blood
pressure medications
Treatment Rosacea rarely clears up on its
own. Although there's no way to eliminate rosacea, effective
treatment can relieve its signs and symptoms. Most often this
requires a combination of prescription treatments from a doctor and
a gentle cleanser, protective moisturiser and sunscreen from your
skin therapist. In some cases enlarged blood vessels and some
redness become permanent, for this we would recommend laser
treatment to reduce the visibility of blood vessels, remove tissue
build up and improve appearance. We recommend facial treatments
incorporating Vitamin E or Vitamin C, and facials designed to
hydrate, reduce redness for stressed skins. We do not recommend
intense massage on the affected area. An option would be manual
lymphatic drainage or pressure point
massage. |
